📰 Announcements & FYIs

Introducing: OpenJSF World! The conference formerly known as Node + JS Interactive has a new name. The event is June 23-24th in Austin, Texas, and the CFP is now open. Event registration is set to open in the next 3 weeks, and we're actively planning the follow-on collab summit. Stay tuned!

Help us plan the best collab summit ever! Several community members are meeting bi-weekly with Foundation and LF events staff to plan the next Collab Summit, tentatively scheduled for June 25-26 pending venue confirmation. We're also interested to hear your Collab Summit Montreal feedback and hope you'll share that on the /summit repo, in #collabsummit on Slack, or by following up with me directly.

HEADS UP: A new standards email list has been created! If you're interested in following along with the standards working group or getting involved, head on over to and sign up!

Ask jQuery Anything - Timmy and Dave will be taking questions for our next AMA series on Feb. 5. Submit your question here, and stay tuned!

Join our Marketing committee meetings - The Foundation is happy to clarify that community members are welcome to join the monthly Foundation marketing calls and to participate in its discussions. The next meeting will be at the end of February, and you can get the calendar invite by subscribing to the public calendar.

🗒 Meeting Notes & Recaps

Meeting Notes | Recording | GH issue

  • We started with #31, Communication channel between CPC and AMP infra WG, and determined that this issue can be closed. Those interested in participating in this work should join the mailing list.
  • Next, discussed #445, Meta: Where shall certain resources live? Since there was no further discussion on the issue, we agreed to create a resources directory with an index in an existing repo, and Jory took that action item.
  • There were no objections to #441 Finalize travel fund process, and Michael agreed to land that. We also agreed that #377, Clarify Travel Fund status & process, can close once #441 lands.
  • More folks agreed to get invloved with #432, Start a Code of Conduct Team. There was further discussion about the scope and goals of this group. Interested parties are encouraged to get involved on the issue thread.
  • Tobie gave an update to #414, Add Foundation-wide copyright guidance. He and Brian Warner agreed that the document should be renamed "IP Policy Guidance" and would be the single entry point for anything related to copyright/patent issues for OpenJSF projects. They agreed that they could split up the document in two sections, a super short TL;DR (the goal of which would be to address the requirements of the vast majority of projects) and a second section for those wanting to dig deeper. A more complete proposal is expected in a couple of weeks.
  • On issue #386, Add post-graduation checklist, we are still looking to get more approvals by voting CPC members. Joe Sepi took the action item to follow up with them to get the required approvals.
  • On #379, move COC proposal to stage 3, the group agreed that the members of the new team identified in #432 should determine if this is satisfactory to be the MVP and +1 the PR or close.
  • Related to the other CoC issues, #418 update CoC from 1.4 to 2.0, we agreed we could land this.
  • #326, Responsible security disclosures, got a brief update: Marcin continues working on this based on the guidance landed in package-maintenance WG. Mike Samuel asked to be included in discussion.
